The exact positioning of components is particularly important for series production. Here, multiple components are frequently welded, bonded, riveted, soldered, etc. at high cycle rates to form assemblies. To ensure the quality of the end product, it is critical that components are reliably positioned (with repetitive accuracy) in the production process. Workpiece holders or carriers ensure that parts and components are positioned precisely during the respective production processes. These are manufactured from engineering ceramics due to their high wear resistance. Workpiece holders are used for, among other things, positioning circuit boards during the soldering process or are processed in grippers for picking up and positioning car body panels.

Advantages of workpiece holders/carriers made from or with ceramic components:

  • suffer minimal wear,
  • do not cause metallic abrasion,
  • do not cause surface damage,
  • can withstand even extremely abrasive media and materials

This guarantees long-term positioning accuracy in the process and significantly reduces costs for quality assurance and servicing.
