Positioning pins are used for the controlled positioning to extremely fine tolerances of components and moulded sheet metal parts. Typically, two positioning pins are sufficient to position a component correctly. Once the components are aligned, tasks such as forming work or joining is carried out. The positioning pins are generally used in car body construction.

Solutions - Positioning pins

Positioning pins are often subject to very high wear because they are used to hold laser-cut – and therefore extremely sharp-edged – moulded sheet metal parts. Conventional metal pins are unable to cope such loads which explains why high-performance ceramic pins are preferred. The ceramic positioning pins are characterised above all by longer service lives, superior precision not to mention better reliability.

This pins are made from an assembly that contains a ceramic head made from DOCREAM CERAZUR and a stainless steel foot.
